What is the new 'Community Groups' feature on ADDA and how does it help residents stay connected?

Now, never miss out on any group activity happening in your community— whether it’s on WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, or other platforms! With this new feature, you can find, join, and share all external community groups right from your ADDA app. It’s all about staying connected and making sure no resident is left out!


Here are some frequently asked questions to help you get started:


1. What is the “Community WhatsApp Groups” feature?


This feature allows you to discover and join community groups that are hosted on external platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, etc., directly through the ADDA app.


For example:  

Is there a "Ladies of Block B" WhatsApp group or a "Kids Activities" Instagram page? Now you can list and find them all in one place on ADDA!

 2. How do I add an external community group to ADDA?


Follow these simple steps:


1. Copy the group link (e.g., WhatsApp/Instagram/Facebook group URL).  

2. Open your ADDA app.  

3. Scroll down to find “Community WhatsApp Groups”.  

4. Tap on “View All”.  

5. Tap on the ‘+’ icon.  

6. Paste the group link.  

7. Click Next, fill in the group details (name, description, etc.), and hit Add.  


Your group is now visible to others in the community!

 3. Who can add a group on ADDA?


Only the admins of the external groups or whoever has the excess to the group link (like WhatsApp or Instagram group).This ensures authenticity and proper management of the group listings.

 4. Who can view and join these external groups on ADDA?


Any community resident using the ADDA app can view the listed groups and choose to join based on their interest.


To join a group:


1. Open the ADDA app.  

2. Scroll down to find “Community WhatsApp Groups” and tap “View All”.  

3. You can either browse from the cards available on the home screen or browse more by clicking on "View All".

4. Tap "Join" -> Make sure you're the intended audience for the respective group and then "Proceed". 

5. Tap “Join Group” on the external app.


For example: Want to join the “Weekend Cricket Club” on WhatsApp? Just follow the above steps and you are in!

 5. Who can edit or update a group listed on ADDA?


Only the user who created the group and the moderator of ADDA have the permission to make updates.


To edit:


1. Open your ADDA app.  

2. Open the group card that you want to edit.

3. Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.  

4. Choose “Edit”, make your changes, and hit Save.

 6. Who can delete a group from ADDA?


Just like editing, only the creator or moderator of ADDA the group can delete it.


Steps:


1. Open the group in the ADDA app.  

2. Tap the three-dot menu (⋮).  

3. Select “Delete”, and confirm by tapping Yes, then OK.
