What is the difference between Utility Charges and Maintenance Charges?

The key difference lies in what each type of charge covers:

  • Utility Charges are for services based on individual usage, such as electricity, water, or gas. These charges are typically calculated based on meter readings or fixed usage slabs.

  • Maintenance Charges cover the general upkeep of the community. This includes expenses like common area maintenance, staff salaries, security, landscaping, building repairs, and other shared services.

Both types of charges have separate billing setups and serve different purposes. They may also appear in separate invoices and follow different accounting processes within ADDA.
