In ADDA, can we link the Payment Gateway to multiple Bank Accounts to receive payments from Residents?

Yes, ADDA supports multiple bank account configurations in the following scenarios:

  • Separate bank accounts for Income Tracker and Utility Tracker: You can configure one dedicated bank account for the Income Tracker module and a different dedicated bank account for the Utility Tracker module.
  • Block-wise Payment Gateway bank account integration: For communities using block-wise billing in the Utility Tracker module, ADDA supports block-wise Payment Gateway integration, allowing each block to be linked to its respective bank account for payment settlements.
NotesNote: Apart from the above-supported configurations, ADDA does not support configuring multiple bank accounts within the same billing module.

Maintaining multiple bank accounts within the same module can create the following operational and accounting challenges:

  1. Complex bank reconciliation: Payment settlements, UTRs, receipts, and bank credits are automatically mapped to a single settlement account. Multiple bank accounts increase reconciliation complexity and the possibility of mismatches.
  2. Audit and compliance challenges: During financial audits, tracking and verifying resident-wise collections across multiple settlement accounts becomes difficult and may result in discrepancies.
  3. Increase in suspense or unidentified transactions: Payments received across different bank accounts may not be mapped correctly, leading to suspense or unidentified transactions that require additional manual intervention.
  4. Receipt allocation issues: Automatic allocation of resident payments against invoices and advances can be impacted, resulting in incorrect or delayed adjustments.
  5. Higher inter-bank transfer activity: Associations may need to transfer funds between multiple bank accounts to maintain a consolidated financial position, increasing operational effort and reconciliation overhead.
  6. Accurate accounting and reporting: Maintaining a single settlement account per module ensures accurate financial reporting, easier bank reconciliation, and a clear audit trail for all Payment Gateway transactions.
For these reasons, ADDA recommends maintaining one dedicated bank account per module, ensuring seamless payment processing, accurate accounting, easier bank reconciliation, and a clear audit trail.
